STEVENSVILLE, Md.  - 10K Across the Bay race organizers have added Dave McGillivray and his company DMSE to act as Race Director for this new event. McGillivray has been the race director of the Boston Marathon and other world class running events for many years.

The inaugural 10K Across the Bay will be held Saturday, Nov. 9. The 10K is a point-to-point race with 4.35 miles of the course directly over water, on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

Peter Paris, Race Organizer, expressed excitement about the addition of McGillivray and the DMSE team: "As a new company, we knew that we would have to bring an amazing team together to meet the challenge of producing this race. With the addition of Dave to our team, we know that this event will be world class for all involved.  We are honored to have his involvement and we hope that runners will be excited to be a part of this inaugural race!"

"Not only does Dave (and his team at DMSE) bring an incredible level of confidence to the safety and professionalism of this event for our runners, we feel that any company that is thinking of sponsoring the event will be assured that they are investing in a world class opportunity," chimed in Sparrow Rogers, Race Organizer.

McGillivray commented: "We are very excited to be a part of what will surely be one of the largest races in the Mid-Atlantic.  With 4.35 miles of the course taking place over the Chesapeake Bay, this race is truly unique.  My team will help ensure that the event is well run, safe and a pleasure for all involved."

Terry Hasseltine, Executive Director, Maryland Office of Sports, compared the addition of DMSE Sports to "like getting a high first round draft choice in other sports."

"His expertise and knowledge will enhance the runner's experience and provide a level of event execution second to none in the running industry," stated Hasseltine.
