This year's participant shirt conveys the friendship and peace that the two nations have shared for the past 200 years. "This event is all about how we are neighbors, we share the longest unprotected border in the world, but more importantly, we are friends! This is something we can all be proud of and internationally hold up as a model to the rest of the world to follow." says Chris Uszynski, race director and founder of the run.
Participants in the marathon and half-marathon receive long-sleeved shirts, and for the 5K and 10K runners, a commemorative cotton T-shirt will display a similar design.
The race medal design features the official logo designed by the 1812 Committee of the Southern First Nations Secretariat. The medal is adorned with a full-color sublimated ribbon and depending on the distance completed, is gold, pewter, bronze or a smaller version of the gold.
