- North American and U.S. record 26:48.00 in the 10,000m at 2011 Belgacomm Memorial Van Damme in Brussels, besting Chris Solinsky's 2010 mark. Rupp and Solinsky are only North American men to break 27:00 for 10,000 meters.
- 2005: broke U.S. Junior (age 19 and under) record for 10,000m with a time of 28:25.52.
- Three wins at the 2009 Indoor NCAAs: 3000m (7:48.94), 5000m (13:41.45) and anchor leg distance medley relay (3:57.07)
- First man to pull such a triple at the NCAA Indoors led Oregon to its first indoor team title in 2009.
- Set U.S. 5000m indoor record (13:18.12) in February 2009
