A total of 1,900,000 runners finished a half marathon in the U.S. in 2016, down from the record high of just over two million finishers in 2014 and slightly down from the 1,986,600 total in 2015.

In 2016, there were a total of 507,600 finishers in the marathon in the U.S., a slight decrease from 2015 totals, but still the fifth highest finisher total in history.
