The Cowtown Launches New Website and Ambassador Program

Ambassadors will be expected to run one of the three marathon distances at the 2018 Cowtown

 

The Cowtown Marathon(Fort Worth, TX) --- June 15, 2017 -- The Cowtown® has announced two changes in anticipation for its 40th anniversary year of running, set for February 23-25, 2018.

 

First, to improve the online experience of runners and friends alike, The Cowtown has a new and improved web site, www.cowtownmarathon.org. Features include a completely updated design format with a crisp, fresh look.

 

Most importantly, it is more user-friendly, with clear and efficient navigation to comprehensive information and instructions on all its events and charitable efforts, as well as inclusion of thumbnail information from all the most recent Cowtown-related social media channels.

 

For the 40th running of The Cowtown, The Cowtown is also introducing an Ambassador Program. Ambassadors will serve as volunteers for Cowtown and help spread the word about Cowtown in their communities--online through social media and blogs as well as in person by attending community events and other races. The goal is to increase participation from specific geographic areas.

 

Ambassadors can be from any number of metro areas, such as Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Oklahoma City, Little Rock and beyond. There are no set guidelines on running philosophy or pace, just that Ambassadors be previous Cowtown marathon distance participants (ultra, marathon or half marathon), are training regularly, are active on social media and are active in their local running community.

 

Ambassadors will be expected to run one of the three marathon distances at the 2018 Cowtown, make at least one original social media post per week related to Cowtown or to running from September 2017 to March 2018, share Cowtown posts, volunteer with Cowtown at least twice in the year and attend other running events wearing Cowtown gear.

 

“Basically, we want our ambassadors to love Cowtown and be supportive representatives who extend our promotional efforts beyond Fort Worth,” said Cowtown Executive Director Heidi Swartz.

 

Ambassadors will receive a complimentary entry into a Cowtown 2018 Sunday race, a free training shirt and singlet, disposable jackets for use at other races, 2018 VIP tent access and an invitation to the Chairman and Sponsor Dinner. The Ambassador Program replaces The Cowtown’s Elite Program. Interested persons can learn more at cowtownmarathon.org under the community involvement tab.

 

The Cowtown, the largest multi-event road race in North Texas, has a $10.4 annual economic impact in Fort Worth, Texas, and has one of the largest youth runs in the nation. The 40th annual Cowtown is scheduled for Friday, February 23rd through Sunday, February 25th at Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas. The Cowtown races are presented by the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Medical City Healthcare, MillerCoors, Star Telegram, NBC 5, Bruce Lowrie Chevrolet and Cook Children’s Health Care System.
