Miles for Meaning: $122,000 Contributed, 5,700 Participants, and 325,000 Miles Logged in March for Charity

While many sat indoors fearing the looming pandemic and avoiding the winter this March, the Kilter community came together and got after it for 31-days straight in favor of their favorite charitable cause.

Through the Kilter platform, individuals competed in a running/walking distance challenge, called Miles For Meaning, which included a $25,000 grand prize donation for the charity team that logged the most miles over the course of the month.

Kilter is elated to announce that Dylan’s Wings of Change, a small nonprofit organization dedicated to the memory of first grader Dylan Hockley, who lost his life in  2012 as a result of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary, has secured that grand prize donation!

This event allowed 100+ unique charity organizations to mitigate their losses from 2020, engage with and grow their communities, and encourage healthy behaviors from their supporters. By sheer dedication and hardwork from the nearly 5,700 participants, Miles For Meaning brought in a total of $122,000 in donations for causes around the world, and saw users log over 325,000 total miles (avg: 57 miles / user).

Kilter is a platform designed to be the most inclusive and accessible supporter engagement tool in the world. Kilter primarily services the nonprofit space to customize all-inclusive activity-based fundraising campaigns, which helps turn supporters' everyday health and fitness activities into opportunities to fundraise.

Founder & CEO, Seth Braddock, shared that “watching hundreds of charities and thousands of people come together towards a common goal in this event was amazing to see. We saw people run hundreds of miles in a single weekend with their feet turning blue, to walking throughout the night to keep raising awareness for their causes. While one charity came away with the grand prize this year, every charity now has a stronger community. We're so excited to take Miles For Meaning to new heights in 2022 and beyond.”

Kilter hosts a myriad of events on their platform monthly in conjunction with different nonprofit and corporate organizations looking to disrupt the virtual engagement space and provide their communities with a safe and unique way to fundraise.
