New this year is a team competition for the 15K race. Teams can enter in three categories – male, female, and co-ed. Teams can have as many people as they want, with the five fastest finishers counting toward the team score. Scoring will be by the cross-country method, which gives a point value that equals where the person finished the race.
Example: Team Running Pensacola has 10 female members running the 15K. The fastest five on the team finish 34th, 56th, 110th, 1,200th, and 1,567th. The team score would be 2,967. Awards will be given to the top male, top female, and top co-ed team.
During the registration process, at www.doublebridgerun.com, participants will indicate which team they are on from a drop-down menu or create a new team. There is no additional cost to join a team or participate in the team challenge.
Additionally, on Feb. 1 and 2, the Expo and Packet Pick-Up Presented by Zarzaur Law, PA will be held at the Hilton on Pensacola Beach. The expo is free and open to the public. Attendees can visit multiple vendors and register for the race, if spots are still available. There is no day-of-race registration.
