Climate change is the existential crisis of our time. Millions of us want to be a part of the solution, but don’t know how to take the first step? The Climb for Climate is an athletic fundraiser wherein participants complete a stadium stair climbing race to raise money for the fight against climate change. The attitude is fun and collaborative, the vibes are upbeat, and the action is felt by all who get involved. Our first stadium takeover event will be in Boston in the Spring of 2024. Within 5 years, we will grow to dozens of cities in North America, tens of thousands of participants, hundreds of millions of dollars raised, and billions of tons of carbon removed from our planet. We know that to build something this big we need large scale sponsorships along with a large scale community. So, will you step up and join The Climb for Climate?

The COO of The Climb for Climate is an experienced event builder. You’ve run large scale athletic fundraising events before. You will make our launch event come to life in 2024 while building a playbook to replicate the climb in dozens of cities. Your blueprint will be followed by race directors from Chicago to London to Johannesburg.

The COO is the glue of our organization, holds everything together, beats the drum, is accountable for the P&L, executes the business plan, holds the Leadership Team accountable, and is the steady force in the organization.

Passionate about stemming the climate crisis, as our COO, you will be able to think, operate, and execute locally and globally. You will help us grow C4C from scratch, starting with 1 event. After this successful proof-of-concept, we will move directly into scaling rapidly into more cities. The COO will work with the Executive Director to build the plan and further vision of this organization. This job will require some around-the-clock event lifestyle months leading up to the events, as well as more sane weeks when we’re not actively running events in the near future.

Today, The Climb for Climate is a startup. This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor. As COO, your team of direct reports will grow. You’ll also be tasked with managing contracted service providers and vendors, as well as the recruitment and management of a large number of volunteers for our events.

This job is the real deal for a real doer. We are building a high performance team. Well funded, The Climb for Climate will have a global impact. We are looking for someone who thrives in event construction, strategic planning, diligent order, and even some event day chaos. We are a nonprofit that connects virtually and prioritizes the human element often missing in today’s world; togetherness.
