August 4, 2026 – VCPM, Inc. has opened applications for the ninth cohort of its Game Changers program, a nationwide initiative dedicated to empowering Women of Color to become leaders within the running industry.

Game Changers equips Women of Color with the tools necessary to gain the skills, certifications, and business acumen to become a Certified Run Coach, redefining who is seen as experts and leaders in the running industry. Brooks Running will be the program’s Presenting Sponsor for the fifth consecutive year.

Applications are open from August 3-26, 2026 and can be submitted here.

The program is a dynamic pathway for aspiring and emerging leaders who are ready to inspire change, foster inclusivity, and expand representation in the sport of running.

An online Q&A will be held August 13 for those who have questions or want more information about the Game Changers experience. Sign up to attend here.

Since its launch, Game Changers has helped build a growing network of certified coaches who are creating more welcoming, representative and accessible running communities across the country. Through mentorship, professional development and industry connections, participants leave the program with the confidence and credentials to lead athletes, launch coaching businesses and inspire the next generation of run leaders. By investing in diverse leadership, the program is helping strengthen the future of the running industry from the ground up.

“When we started Game Changers, the goal was simple: make sure Women of Color had a real pathway into leadership in this sport — not just a seat at the table, but the certifications and confidence to build the table themselves. Nine cohorts later, I’m proud that this program has become about so much more than running. It’s about ownership, community, and legacy — and Brooks has had a hand in writing that legacy with us for five years, showing up as a true partner in this mission. As we open applications for our ninth cohort, I couldn’t be more excited to welcome the next wave of Game Changers and watch their impact reach even further across the country.” – Vanessa C. Peralta-Mitchell, Founder of VCPM, Inc.’s Game Changers.

“We’re proud to celebrate five years of supporting Game Changers and the incredible women who are choosing to invest in themselves by becoming certified run coaches. Every cohort reminds us how powerful it is to expand who is recognized as an expert in our sport. It’s an honor to meet these women at the start of their journey, cheer them on throughout the program, and celebrate the lasting impact they’ll have on the runners and communities they go on to lead.” – Carly Rebecchi, Brooks Community Impact Manager

“Brooks & Game Changers reminded me that leadership starts with belonging. As a coach, I’ve gained the confidence to lead with my lived experience not despite it. When runners see leaders who reflect different backgrounds, stories, and journeys, they realize there’s a place for them in this sport. That’s why programs like Game Changers matter: they don’t just develop coaches they help shape the future of running.” – Jovonsia Guidry, a 2025 Game Changers participant.
