Charlotte — Runners return to uptown Charlotte and surrounding streets this weekend for the 19th iteration of the Novant Health Charlotte Marathon. Organizers anticipate record crowds for the Friday Expo and Saturday races, which include a full marathon, half marathon, relay, and 5k.
“This is going to be a great group of runners and their families and friends,” said Tim Rhodes, Managing Partner and Race Director for the Novant Health Charlotte Marathon. “We’re expecting runners from at least 45 different states and nine countries outside the US, as well as all of the local runners and partners who’ve made this event what it is today.”
The weekend lineup begins tomorrow (Friday, November 3) with the Health and Wellness Expo and packet pick-up at the Sheraton Hotel Uptown. The Expo is open to the public, and includes an array of vendors, activities, Charlotte’s DJ Rosice, and LIVE recording sessions of The Running Around Charlotte Podcast.
Saturday’s events include the Novant Health Charlotte Marathon, half marathon, rucking half marathon, full and half marathon relays, and the Chick-fil-A 5k; all of which start on Graham Street, behind Truist Field. Organizers expect nearly 7,500 runners over all events.
