CLEVELAND – (June 24, 2026) — The 2026 University Hospitals Cleveland Marathon announced today it had collectively raised $500,000 for local charities through this year’s Charity Program in partnership with 43 organizations and over 470 participating runners. The University Hospitals Cleveland Marathon has helped raise well over $5 million for local charitable organizations since its inception in 1977.

“We’re proud to have raised more than half a million dollars for so many critical, local organizations alongside our runners and incredible charity partners this year,” said Race Director Ralph Staph. “Next year is going to be historic as our race turns 50 and we are looking forward to an equally record setting showing for our charity partners as well.”

The countdown to 50 has begun. The University Hospitals Cleveland Marathon will celebrate its historic 50th anniversary next year during race weekend, May 15 – 16, 2027. Registration for all events, including the Kids Run, 5K, 10K, Half and Full Marathon distances is open now at clevelandmarathon.com.

The University Hospitals Cleveland Marathon has a long-standing commitment to the charitable community. The Charity Program allows organizations of all sizes and interests to raise funds by providing the tools and knowledge to create an effective fundraising vehicle.
