MOLINE, Ill. — The TBK Bank Quad Cities Marathon celebrated its 29th anniversary September 26th and 27th, welcoming more than 4,100 participants as they raced through the states of Illinois and Iowa along the Mississippi River. On Sunday the 27th, Adam Rzentkowski of Madison, WI (2:19:10) won the men’s marathon and Caitlin Kowalke of Sherwood, WI (2:42:24) won the women’s marathon.
The TBK Bank Quad Cities Marathon also served as the 2026 Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) National Marathon Championship where eight runners earned national titles.
Beyond the competitive field, the event brought together runners from across the nation, supported by more than 700 local volunteers and community partners. Founding Race Director, Joe Moreno, and his team also hosted the Mel Foster Half Marathon, the Running Wild 10k, the Group O 5k and the Rock Valley Marathon Relay on Sunday. Saturday events included the Fleet Feet Shakeout Run, the Shoes for Kids Mile, the Happy Joe’s Kids Micro Marathon and the Active Endeavors Health and Fitness Expo.

The annual event raises funds for numerous charitable causes; primarily by providing shoes for over 500 area youth, funds towards Prostate Cancer Awareness and Research, and support for dozens of local organizations through the charitable bib program.
The 30th running of the TBK Bank Quad Cities Marathon will be held September 25-26, 2027.
