The 30 Under 30 Running Leaders Coming to Porto competition is now officially open.
Launched by European Athletics, this initiative is designed to bring together the next generation of professionals shaping the future of running events and mass participation — including those collaborating with Race Organisers and Athletics Federations.
A Unique Opportunity
The programme offers 30 young professionals from around the world the chance to attend the European Running Business Conference 2026 in Porto, connect with industry leaders, and gain first-hand experience within the global running community.
Who Can Apply
Applications are open to individuals aged 18–29 who are actively involved in organising races and mass participation events, including professionals collaborating with Race Organisers and Athletics Federations.
Whether working within an event team, supporting delivery partners, or contributing through a federation, this initiative recognises the broader network behind successful events.
How It Works
Applicants are invited to complete a short online application form, including basic personal and professional details, along with a few questions about their motivation and experience.
All entries will go through:
• an Eligibility & Quality Review, followed by
• a Random Draw to ensure a fair and transparent selection process

• Applications close: 24 May 2026
• Winners announced: by 10 June 2026
What You Can Win
30 selected participants (15 female and 15 male) will receive Main Prize:
• Free registration for the European Running Business Conference 2026 Porto
• Access to all sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities
• A race entry for the Porto Marathon (Marathon or 10K)
• Conference materials and resources
Additional prizes will be randomly awarded among the winners:
• First prize: Flights + Accommodation:
Economy class return flights within Europe to Porto + 3 nights’ accommodation in
twin room at Neya Porto Hotel (2 winners, 1 female + 1 male)
• Second prize: Accommodation Only
3 nights’ accommodation in twin room at Neya Porto Hotel (2 winners, 1 female + 1
male)
• Third prize: Free entry to the European Running Championships 2027 in Belgrade (10 winners, 5 female + 5 male)
