OCTOBER 8, 2023 – HAMPTON, VIRGINIA – Over 1,500 runners made their way down the hidden gems of Hampton during the BayPort Foundation Crawlin’ Crab Half Marathon Weekend presented by Bon Secours. Runners from 25 states crossed the finish line both Saturday and Sunday.

Runners began their weekend with packet pickup on Friday or Saturday at the Hampton Roads Convention Center grabbing their bibs, shirts, and other needs for the race. Saturday was kicked off with the running of the 5K that winds through the new Hampton Waterwalk, Bluebird Gap Farm and finishing in from of the Hampton Coliseum. Finishers and their supporters were treated to drink and live music from AudioHUM.

Sunday’s big races included the Half Marathon and kids 1K. Runner’s traversed their way through multiple parts of Hampton including downtown and the gorgeous water views on Chesapeake Ave. Half Marathoners were treated to food and drink and live music from the energetic rock band, Kaboombox.

“This race was designed to highlight the thriving communities in Hampton, with a great finish line in the city center at the Hampton Coliseum. The City of Hampton really helps make this race a true feel good weekend for us at J7A Racing and the participants” says co-race director, Jerry Frostick

The race also brings out the good for the community “BayPort is proud of our continued partnership with J&A Racing. Half Marathon Winners: Brian Clapp, Annapolis, MD 1:13:58 was the first male to finish with Susie Bousquet, Virginia Beach, VA, 1:23:53 as the female finisher. 5K Winners: Male finisher S. Marek, Chesapeake, VA, 19:02 and female finisher Sika Henry, Newport News, VA, 18:50.
