Sunday, April 27, 2025 at The University of Toledo Glass Bowl Stadium Toledo, Ohio – April 27, 2025 – It was a record-breaking day at the Mercy Health Glass Marathon. Adam Beucler of Hudson, Ohio crossed the finish line first for the men with a time of 2:19:31.87. Alyssa McElheny of Belding, Michigan claimed the women’s title with a time of 2:35:37.83. According to results, both times set new course records for the Mercy Health Glass City Marathon. Kathleen Lawrence of Toronto Ontario also set a new female masters course record with a marathon finish time of 2:46:09.45. It was a personal best for Lawrence. Ryan Corby, the current male masters course record holder, took the win for the masters with a time of 2:29:26. This weekend, 6,648 participants and over 30 elite runners took part in the 48th annual Mercy Health Glass City Marathon. It was a clear, cool and calm Sunday morning as runners traveled the streets of Toledo and surrounding communities. The race featured various distances, including the full marathon, half marathon, 5k, and a team relay. Tom Derr of Boulder, Colorado was the first male finisher of the Owens Corning Half Marathon in a time of 1:07:16.37. Macy McRowe of Wadsworth, Ohio finished first in the female field with a time of 1:15:26.47. The Savage 5K overall male and female winners were Trevor Cook of Carey, Ohio in a time of 15:10.57, and Marissa Ward of Maumee, Ohio in a time of 19:07.88. The men’s marathon started with a strong pack including 2024 champion, Derek Stone, Olympic trials finisher Mark Messmer, Garang Madut, and two time Mercy Health Glass City Marathon champion Evan Gaynor. McElheny, who came back from a major procedure from an injury a year ago not only took the win but also smashed the previous half marathon course record by nearly five minutes.
