DENVER, CO – The 20th Denver Colfax Marathon, presented by Cigna Healthcare, has sold out the half marathon for its milestone race weekend next month. The event’s popular half marathon is the only race in the world that features a full mile alongside animals in the zoo and a run through a working fire station. Race organizers announced last week that while there is still capacity left in the event’s 7 other races, many are over 90% capacity as we head into race month this week.
“From the moment we opened registration last fall, the excitement for our 20th year has been absolutely electric,” said Andrea Dowdy, CEO of the Denver Colfax Marathon. “Our runners’ enthusiasm powers everything that we do, and we are counting down the days until we can celebrate together.”
The city’s only marathon weekend is expecting over 27,000 runners for its annual event which will take place May 15 – 17. The marathon is proud to announce an exceptional roster of sponsors for its upcoming race in Denver. Each sponsor plays a critical role in supporting race participants, spectators, and volunteers throughout the weekend long event.
