Change is essential for growth. You anticipate obstacles, unexpected twists, and course corrections.

What you don’t expect, however, is a record year, an early sell-out (over 6000 participants!), and incredible weather! Ok, we have no control over the last one, but the beautiful day certainly made it unforgettable.

2022 revealed the need for significant change. With many races to choose from, we recognized the necessity to enhance our overall experience. Given the current inflation, it was evident that we also needed to make strategic adjustments to navigate rising costs. As a collective, we understood that it was a rebuilding year and were prepared for anything.

In our efforts to promote the race, we decided to take a different approach, emphasizing building deeper connections with our runners. Our aim was to convey why we are the largest marathon in Wisconsin and why this event is truly unmissable. As we celebrate our 30th year of ownership and 50th year overall,

we’re introducing more stories, entertainment, and fun to the festivities.

A new race director has been hired to bring a fresh perspective operationally, bringing new ideas and a passion for promoting a positive and inclusive running experience. Furthermore, time investments have been made in a new equipment and timing manager to ensure a seamless and efficient event.

Registration for 2024 is currently pacing ahead of 2023, and the level of enthusiasm and participation is truly unprecedented. The overwhelming support from our community and race partners has set the stage for an unforgettable celebration of endurance and achievement.

Our message is simple – you can do it. Implementing change may seem intimidating, but with dedication, persistence, and passion, everything will fall into place. We’re here to offer a pep talk for anyone

interested in embarking on their own journey.

In a crowded field of races, our commitment is to make ours truly exceptional. Our ideas often surpass our resources, but, where there’s a will, there’s a way! We invite you to join us—whether as a runner, volunteer, collaborator, or partner. Amazing things happen when we work together, and we welcome the opportunity to achieve greatness with you. If you’re interested, feel free to contact us.
