Empowering communities to break barriers for mothers in health, career, and beyond
(March 4, 2025) – For All Mothers+, an impact nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating the motherhood penalty through the public lens of sports, is proud to announce the launch of the “MomForwardMovement” – a nationwide series of community-hosted run/walk/movement events throughout May. These events will celebrate motherhood, foster conversations around maternal equity in the sports industry and beyond, and raise funds to support For All Mother+’s groundbreaking initiatives.
Formerly known as &Mother, For All Mothers+ was founded by Olympic Medalist and seven-time U.S. Champion Alysia Montaño. Montaño made headlines in 2014 when she competed at the U.S. Championships while eight months pregnant, challenging perceptions about what women’s bodies are capable of and advocating for better maternal support in the sports industry. This moment, coupled with her New York Times op-ed, sparked the #DreamMaternity movement as mothers from beyond sports shared in Montaño’s plight: being forced to choose between career and motherhood. For All Mothers+ continues this movement by using the sports industry to drive policy change, institute family-first standards, and shift the narrative through research and advocacy for all mothers.

Host a May event and support the MomForwardMovement
For All Mothers+ has created an easy, scalable “Race-in-a-Box” kit to make it fun and seamless for anyone to host their own MomForwardMovement event this May. Each kit is absolutely free and includes:
● Family Forward Event Playbook: Sharing our best practices for how to host a family-friendly community event (no experience needed!)
● Registration Platform: For All Mothers+ will host the registration pages and create sub-events for all event organizers
● Marketing Support: The For All Mothers+ team will provide digital assets to help promote each event and be available to answer any questions
● Marketing Materials: Posters! Stickers! Giveaways! Plus, intros to brands/sponsors that might be willing to provide product demos and giveaways to uplevel the experience of your event.
