WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – Air Force Marathon registrants can gift a paid entry fee to junior active-duty, Reserve and Guard enlisted service members for the event in September.

Gift registrations are available for the 5K, 10K, half and full marathons.

“We love the gift registration program because we believe every person should have the ability to participate…especially the Airmen of the U.S. Air Force,” said Rachael Ferguson, director of the Air Force Marathon. “Our participants are quite eager to support our Airmen and this is one simple way we can give back to them.”

All military members (E-1 to E-6) interested in receiving a gifted entry are asking to submit the following information by emailing usaf.marathon@us.af.mil:

• Name

• Rank

• Unit

• Event preference (5K, 10K, half or full marathon)

• A paragraph explaining why you are interested in participating in this year’s marathon.

The deadline to submit a request is Aug. 31 or until all gift registrations have been issued. Personnel stationed at Wright-Patt may receive priority over personnel stationed elsewhere.

The Air Force Marathon is scheduled for Sept. 16. The Health & Fitness Expo, held at Wright State University’s Nutter Center, is scheduled for Sept. 14-15. The weekend will also feature a gourmet pasta dinner the same day as the 5K and Tailwind Trot Sept 15, as well as a finish line festival Sept. 16.
