People from around the nation will gather to run, walk and trot at San Diego County’s largest turkey trot

OCEANSIDE, Calif. – San Diego County’s largest Thanksgiving day running event is back with fun, fitness and festivities on Nov. 23. The O’side Turkey Trot attracts visitors from 46 States and 460 cities and benefits the Move Your Feet Before You Eat!® Foundation. Those interested in running, walking or trotting through Oceanside can choose from 5-mile, 5K and kids run courses. Registration is now open for the 18th annual event.

The Trot will feature a costume contest, the largest teams competition and local live entertainment on the course. Trotters will receive race swag including finisher medals for all participants, free digital photos and participant shirts sporting brand new artwork that captures the O’side Turkey Trot spirit.

“We know that the O’side Turkey Trot has a deep connection to the local area, and we’re carrying on the tradition of community connection as we inherit the Trot from co-founder Kathy Kinane,” said Eric Marenburg, chief running officer and co-founder of San Diego Running Co., which purchased the Trot from Kinane Events earlier this year. “Runners and walkers can expect the same scenic 5K and 5-mile courses and race experience that we hope only gets better and better as we bring our knowledge from planning running events all over San Diego to this holiday run.”

At the 2023 O’side Turkey Trot, the race will continue its efforts in giving back to the Oceanside community, as the race itself raises money for the Move Your Feet Before You Eat Foundation, which gives funding to nonprofits that serve O’side residents. To date, the Trot has raised over $470,000 for local causes.
