Denver, CO – Their 16th year of business was outstanding for HAL Sports, going well beyond fun and fitness. In 2024, HAL Sports produced more than 70 events and hosted over 150,000 athlete participants. However, the real winners of these events were the communities and non-profits that received more than $5 million from the events held to benefit them.

Several of HAL’s stand-out events of the year include the 51st Annual Mile High United Way Turkey Trot, Summer Scamper 5K to preserve Denver’s High Line Canal, American Lung Association Stair Climbs, Run the Rocks, and numerous local charity events to fight hunger, suicide, disease, and more.

With passion and perseverance, HAL Sports continues to add community-focused events to its lineup. In 2025, HAL is partnering with Project Limitless for Runnin’ of the Green to bring better access to athletes with disabilities and is excited to be involved with Denver Colfax Marathon’s Fly Feet Youth Program designed to serve at-risk youth in the community.

“Personally myself and all of us  have found the fulfilling work at HAL Sports offers multi-faceted support to the charities we partner with, their missions, and the community events that unite people. Equally significant are the incredible personal goals that motivate us—whether it’s from the very young or those as old as 92! Athletes of all abilities join us for various reasons: to get fit, honor a loved one, fight an illness, and so much more.” said Lonnie Somers, Chief HAL Officer. “This always brings true to their inspiration, and one of my signature sign-offs announcing at events is, that the finish line is not the end, it is the start of what’s possible.”
