New sponsorship aims to educate the running community on a nonopioid acute pain management option for athletes
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The McCourt Foundation (TMF) announces JOURNAVX—a nonopioid prescription medicine for the treatment of moderate-to-severe acute pain, including postoperative pain, in adults—as the Official Acute Pain Partner of the ASICS Los Angeles Marathon and the broader portfolio of McCourt Foundation events. The partnership debuted this season at the Santa Monica Classic and reflects a shared commitment to supporting athletes throughout training and recovery. For many, this event marked the start of training for both TMF’s Rose Bowl Half Marathon and the ASICS Los Angeles Marathon.
As endurance runners chase their goals, acute pain management is often a component of training and performance. While JOURNAVX offers a nonopioid prescription medicine option for adults with moderate-to-severe acute pain, it comes with important safety considerations. It should be used under the guidance of a healthcare professional, with careful attention to potential side effects and possible drug interactions. Through this sponsorship, TMF and JOURNAVX aim to raise awareness of pain management options and encourage conversations with healthcare providers about appropriate treatment.
“Our mission at The McCourt Foundation is to empower individuals to live healthier lives and build a healthier world,” said Karen O’Connell, Head of Sponsorship at The McCourt Foundation. “Partnering with JOURNAVX allows us to extend that commitment beyond the finish line by bringing awareness to nonopioid acute pain treatment options. We are thrilled to welcome JOURNAVX as our Official Acute Pain Partner and provide our running community with valuable information on a nonopioid acute pain management option.”
Key highlights of the sponsorship include product information and digital integration, with digital messaging and expert content woven into pre-race and post-race communications, and on-site activations across TMF events that include brand presence and community engagement across the full calendar of McCourt Foundation events throughout Southern California and Boston.
