San Juan, Puerto Rico — April 10, 2026 — Logistik Events Management® proudly announces its partnership with Start Without a Shot, a global initiative dedicated to replacing the traditional starter pistol with a research-backed, inclusive, and trauma-informed sound alternative.
As a leading endurance sport event production company in Puerto Rico, Logistik Events Management® has not used gunfire starts in its events since 2020. This partnership reflects a continued commitment to innovation, inclusion, and elevating the participant experience across the island’s endurance events.
Through this collaboration, Logistik aims to highlight how even the smallest operational decisions like the sound that starts a race can significantly impact the participant experience.
This initiative carries special significance in April, recognized as Autism Awareness Month, reinforcing the importance of creating environments inclusive of individuals with sensory sensitivities, including those on the autism spectrum, as well as veterans, survivors of violence, and communities affected by trauma.

The Start Without a Shot sound was developed by award-winning sound designers and neuro-experts affiliated with Harvard Medical School and the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. It has been tested across athletic and neurological environments and debuted globally at the 2024 Kyiv City Marathon (now known as the Nova Post Free Barrier Marathon). Since then, the movement has expanded worldwide, with the goal of establishing a new global standard ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. In 2025, World Athletics amended its competition rules to formally allow alternative start sounds beyond traditional gunshots, airhorns, and cannons.
By officially joining this initiative, Logistik Events Management® continues to lead the evolution of endurance sport event production in Puerto Rico driving innovation, inclusion, and athlete-centered experiences.
