The Abbott World Marathon Majors today launched the medal for the inaugural AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Championships which will take place on Sunday 3 October, as part of the Virgin Money London Marathon.
The World Championships will include runners, aged 40 and above, who earned their place at the first and second editions of qualifying after the 2020 championships had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Qualifying races take place across six continents and the third edition of qualifying is currently underway with hundreds of races (in-person and virtual) for runners to earn world ranking points. The location of the 2022 championships will be announced in the coming weeks.
