Leventon brings more than a decade of industry experience and a lifetime love of sport to her new role

BOSTON – DMSE Sports has announced the hiring of Meryl Leventon, who will serve as a Director of Events for the storied events operations organization. In this new role, she will lead the planning and execution for more than 30 client events. Additionally, Leventon will be responsible for facilitating positive client relationships and managing DMSE’s team of Senior Event Managers.

“Meryl’s deep industry knowledge and experience leading some of the most iconic races in the United States will be such an asset to our prestigious team,” said Matthew West, CEO of DMSE Sports. “I’m thrilled to welcome Meryl to the DMSE family and know that our entire team will benefit from her passion for bringing the best experiences to our participants.”

Leventon comes to DMSE from IRONMAN and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series where she served as the Race Director for the Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon and Half Marathon. Throughout the year, she also played various key operational roles for the brand including Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas, which shuts down Las Vegas Boulevard. Her other high-profile event production organization and flagship event experience includes the Life Time Miami Marathon, IRONMAN & 70.3 World Championships, and Singapore Marathon, as well as events across China and South America. Leventon prides herself on her expertise in helping to design, develop and deliver complex and multifaceted large-scale events, a skill that she’s garnered over more than a decade in the industry.

In addition to her professional experience, Leventon has shown dedication to community involvement and improvement through volunteerism. She serves as an Advisory Board Member for Sports San Diego, San Diego’s new sports commission, as well as a Board Member for the North Park Business & Neighborhood Foundation and North Park Community Association, both local 501c3s.

Leventon’s love of sport and sporting events began with her roots in Philadelphia, where she was a fan of her city’s professional teams. A lifelong athlete herself, Leventon played field hockey, basketball, and softball at Lower Merion High School, Kobe Bryant’s alma mater. She continued her basketball and softball career in college. Following graduation, Leventon discovered running and it quickly became a personal passion. While she has tackled races of all distances, she is partial to the half marathon. When she’s not running, Leventon can be found breaking a sweat at her local boxing gym.

Leventon earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business Management from Knox College where she also served as Head of her Student Activities Board and was a charter member of the Eta Kappa Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.

She currently resides in San Diego with her dog and her fiancé.
