Created by Boston Marathon Start Line Director Dave McGillivray, The Seven Day Endurance Event Will Raise Funds for The Dave McGillivray Finish Strong Foundation
BOSTON, MA – November 2, 2026 – Runners will have the opportunity to tackle seven marathons in seven consecutive days across all six New England states through New England 776, a regional endurance challenge created and directed by Dave McGillivray, the Boston Marathon Start Line Director and founder of DMSE Sports.
The seven day journey covers 183.4 marathon miles and begins at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine, before continuing through Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Vermont. The final day returns to Massachusetts, with the marathon starting on the Dave McGillivray Track at Hormel Stadium in Medford, each loop passing through Torbert Macdonald Park, and the finish returning to the track. Funds raised through the event will benefit the Dave McGillivray Finish Strong Foundation, which supports youth through running, reading, and acts of kindness.
McGillivray developed the concept after completing the 2018 World Marathon Challenge, during which he ran seven marathons in seven days on seven continents. New England 776 brings a similar consecutive day endurance challenge to the region where he has spent much of his running and event management career. Ron Kramer serves as the Operations Director for New England 776, coordinating operations for the seven day event.
“After completing the World Marathon Challenge, I started thinking about how we could create something similar right here in New England,” said McGillivray, race director of New England 776 and founder of DMSE Sports. “Running seven marathons in seven days is an incredible test of physical and mental endurance, but it’s also an opportunity to discover what you’re capable of accomplishing. I’ve spent my career encouraging people to set goals, challenge themselves and give back to others. New England 776 brings those ideas together, and knowing that we’re also raising money to help young people through the Finish Strong Foundation makes this event even more meaningful.”
