New York Road Runners (NYRR) had 8,241 finishers at the sold-out REAL Simple Women’s Half Marathon in Central Park on Sunday, making it the largest race in the event’s 20-year history. The event aims to empower, support, and inspire women through a day of fitness and camaraderie. It is one of 60 adult and youth races produced annually by the New York City based non-profit and concluded with a race-day festival featuring a live band, free product samples, and raffle.

Sheinelle Jones, Co-host of 3rd Hour of TODAY, served as the race host following her inspiring running journey to last year’s TCS New York City Marathon finish line. She welcomed runners at the start and cheered for them at the finish as they tackled the two-loop course in Central Park.
