DAVENPORT, Iowa (March 26, 2026) – The Quad-City Times Bix 7 held its annual press conference this week, highlighting many new, exciting developments for its 52nd year, including hosting the PRRO World Championships, as well as returning favorites.
On July 21, the Senior Bix, sponsored by The Bechtel Trusts, will return, taking place along the picturesque Mississippi River in Bettendorf. With the option of 1 or 2-miles, all runners and walkers 50 years and older who register for the Bix 7 or Quick Bix gain FREE entry into the Senior Bix race. Bill Rodgers will join participants for this special event.
July 23 features the opening of the Running Wild Sport and Fitness Expo, held at the RiverCenter. The day concludes with the exciting MercyOne Genesis Brady Street Sprints at 7 pm on Brady Street hill.
The Friday Morning Shakeout Run, July 24, sponsored by John Deere, has become a fan favorite. Join legends Bill Rodgers and Joan Benoit Samuelson at 8 am for a 2-mile easy run in preparation for Saturday’s race.
The Arconic Jr Bix takes place on July 24 at 6 pm. All children 0-12 are encouraged to register and participate in their own Bix race.
On July 25, Davenport is the place to be.
Participants can decide race morning if they want to complete the Quad-City Times Bix 7 or the Prairie Farms Quick Bix, which now awards $500 to its top male and female finishers. Participants who register by April 25 can personalize their race bib, making their race day even more special.
NEW THIS YEAR:
The Bix 7 will host the PRRO (Professional Road Running Organization) World Championships, bringing elite competition to a whole new level—an honor not bestowed since 1997. In addition to the Premier Illinois Iowa Buick GMC Dealers prize purse, there will be a $10,000 super bonus for any athlete who wins the Bix and has also won a PRRO circuit race.
Russell’s Beat the Elite returns with a new twist—an opportunity to apply and be selected for a chance to win $2,500.
Iowa American Water, in partnership with the Track Guy Foundation, will provide 100 free entries to Iowa high school athletes.
Two of America’s greatest distance running legends—Bill Rodgers and Joan Benoit Samuelson—will be with us throughout race week for photos, autographs, and more.
The Friends & Family Area returns—bigger, better, and right in the heart of the finish line celebration on 4th Street, next to the Walmart Post Race Party. It’ll feature live music, an awards stage, food trucks, and games.

· Age group awards, sponsored by GreenState Credit Union, are presented at the awards ceremony at 11 am at the R. Richard Bittner YMCA.
Participants can train to Run with the Best at the Iowa American Water Bix @ 6 training runs, held on a secure course June 18, June 25, July 2 and July 9.
