QUITO, Ecuador / TAMPA, Fla. (June 5, 2026) – The Rock ‘n’ Roll® Running Series has announced Quito, Ecuador as its newest host city, marking an exciting expansion of Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series into South America. Set at an elevation of 2,850 meters above sea level, the Marathon Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Quito will bring a one-of-a-kind endurance experience to the region, combining the challenge of high-altitude racing with the energy of live music and the rich cultural backdrop of Ecuador’s capital city.
With the first edition scheduled for November 22, 2026, the inaugural event will welcome runners to the streets of Quito, guiding participants along the city’s iconic avenues before culminating in a finish at the historic Plaza San Francisco. Located in the heart of Quito’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed Historic Center, the finish line offers one of the most breathtaking urban backdrops in the Americas, surrounded by centuries-old colonial architecture and the dramatic Andes Mountains.
The 2026 edition will feature 10K and Half Marathon (21K) distances, providing opportunities for runners of all abilities, from first-time participants to experienced runners seeking the unique challenge of altitude. Designed to be inclusive, the event will welcome individuals, families, running clubs, and corporate teams to take part in this milestone debut.
