New partnership marks a major investment in San Antonio’s growing running community and brings Nike experiences to participants on the road to race day
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – October 28, 2026 – San Antonio Sports, owner and organizer of the San Antonio Marathon, is proud to announce Nike as the Official Brand Partner of the city’s signature marathon event. The partnership represents a significant step forward for the local running community and the San Antonio Marathon as it prepares to welcome more than 20,000 participants for its second annual race weekend, December 4–6, 2026.
The partnership will include Nike support throughout the runners’ race journey, from the moment they register for training, race day and beyond the finish line. Nike will be integrated across San Antonio Marathon digital platforms, runner tracking and results, while also creating experiences that inspire and support runners. Together, the San Antonio Marathon and Nike will develop co-branded content, product experiences and opportunities.
“Welcoming Nike as the Official Brand Partner of the San Antonio Marathon is a tremendous milestone for our event and for running in our city,” said Jenny Carnes, president and CEO of San Antonio Sports. “Nike’s belief in the power of movement and its commitment to runners at every level align perfectly with our mission to transform our community through the power of sport. Together, we have an incredible opportunity to elevate the participant experience, invest in San Antonio’s growing running culture and inspire more people to see themselves as runners.”
The collaboration comes as Nike continues to expand the brand’s support of the global running community across their full journey, from the courage to sign up to crossing the finish line. In San Antonio, the partnership will help bring the energy of a global running brand into the fabric of a deeply connected local community—from experienced marathoners and run clubs to first-time participants taking on a new distance. As part of the partnership, participants will have opportunities to discover and purchase exclusive Nike training shirts through the San Antonio Marathon registration experience.
The San Antonio Marathon will also introduce a new competitive challenge for full marathon participants. During the inaugural King and Queen of HiLLdebrand challenge—a San Antonio-inspired play on the Hildebrand Road hill—marathoners will compete for the fastest times across the designated course segment. The top male and female finishers will be crowned King and Queen of HiLLdebrand and receive premium Nike running gear.
The new partnership builds on the momentum of the inaugural San Antonio Marathon, which sold out in 2025 with 18,544 registered runners representing all 50 states and 22 countries. The first-year event generated an estimated $22 million in economic impact and nearly 11,000 hotel room nights, immediately establishing the San Antonio Marathon as a major destination race and community celebration.
The second annual San Antonio Marathon weekend will take place December 4–6, 2026, featuring the SATX 5K, Health & Fitness Expo, full marathon and half marathon. The marathon and half marathon courses will once again showcase San Antonio’s history, culture and neighborhoods while welcoming runners, spectators and volunteers from across the city and around the world.
