The San Francisco Marathon is an open charity event, welcoming any charity to join. This year, the marathon, in partnership with GoFundraise, is proud to announce a record-breaking fundraising year. They reached a new milestone, raising over $128,000 for local charities, exceeding their goal by 28%. Surpassing the previous year’s achievements by over 40% and demonstrating the growing impact of our partnership, the 2024 marathon witnessed an unprecedented outpouring of generosity from participants and supporters.

By leveraging the power of the GoFundraise platform, participants were able to create personalized fundraising campaigns pages, rallying their networks to support their chosen charities. This innovative approach not only amplified the impact of individual efforts but also fostered a strong sense of community engagement. The marathon’s commitment to making a difference is evident in the staggering fundraising result of over $128,000.

These funds will undoubtedly have a transformative impact on countless charities and lives. This year, Alzheimer’s association leveraged their charity package to raise nearly $17,000 which will help to boost their research and support those affected by Alzheimer and other dementias. A Better Way raised almost $10,000.

“A Better Way’s participation in the SF Marathon was a wonderful experience. We assembled a team on short notice and with the help of the folks at Go Fundraise, our runners raised nearly $10,000 to provide critical services to children and families across the SF Bay Area.” said Mark Pasley, Communications & Marketing Manager at A Better Way.

The partnership program offers three charity package levels for participating charities: bronze, silver, and gold. Each level provides different promotional support, including exclusive free entry codes for fundraisers and enhanced content distribution. Participants can choose to support one of the partner charities or select any eligible nonprofit organization listed on the GoFundraise platform.

GoFundraise provides a user-friendly platform and comprehensive tools, including fundraising pages created at registration, customizable charity pages, and fundraising pages which empowered participants to maximize their fundraising potential. Additionally, free entry codes offered as part of the packages have attracted even more runners to the event, further boosting the total funds raised.
