Go Green, Go Fast, Go Shamrock! Portland’s Favorite Running Tradition Returns with Fun for All

PORTLAND – February 26, 2025 – The Shamrock Half Marathon Run Fest, presented by Toyota, is proud to announce a new partnership with Wilcox Family Farms, a trusted name in quality eggs for more than a century. Since 1909, Wilcox Family Farms has been committed to sustainable and humane farming practices, providing high-quality eggs to the Pacific Northwest from healthy, well-cared-for hens.

The Shamrock Run Fest, Portland’s largest St. Patrick’s Day running celebration, attracts thousands of health-conscious participants each year. This partnership underscores Wilcox’s dedication to ethically produced eggs—an important factor for runners looking to fuel their bodies with nutritious and responsibly sourced food.

“For generations, Wilcox Family Farms has provided local eggs to the Northwest from happy, healthy hens,” said Scott Warfield of Wilcox Farms Inc. “We are committed to supplying families with ‘egg-cellent’ eggs from chickens raised in humane conditions. Our farms offer pasture-raised, free-range, cage-free, organic, soy-free, omega-3, and mobile pasture eggs, where coops are moved weekly so our hens can enjoy fresh grass and bugs. We’re excited to partner with the Shamrock Run Fest to share our story and farm-fresh eggs with the running community.”

Wilcox Family Farms’ commitment to sustainable farming and animal welfare aligns with the values of Shamrock Run participants who prioritize nutrition and responsible food choices. The farm’s Certified Humane® practices ensure that all hens are treated with care, resulting in high-quality eggs that runners and their families can enjoy.

“Shamrock Run Fest isn’t just a race—it’s Portland’s biggest running celebration,” said Phyliss Blanchard, vice president of partnerships for the event. “We’re thrilled to welcome Wilcox Family Farms as a partner and celebrate their dedication to quality and sustainability. Whether you’re chasing a PR in the half marathon, testing your speed in the Shamrock Showdown 8K, enjoying a 5K with friends, or introducing little ones to running in the Leprechaun Lap, there’s a distance for everyone at Shamrock.”

The 2025 Shamrock Run Fest is set for Sunday, March 16, featuring the Shamrock Showdown 8K, an exclusive 13.1-mile half marathon, and the new Terwilliger Challenge—a test of endurance that pays homage to the city’s iconic climb. Participants and spectators can enjoy a festive weekend of music, food, and fun at the post-race Finish Line Festival, held in partnership with the Kells Portland Irish Festival. Runners will also have the opportunity to learn more about Wilcox Family Farms and their nutrient-rich, responsibly produced eggs throughout race weekend.
