The event welcomed over 19,000 registered participants and a distance for everyone from a 5km to a marathon providing a running tour of some of San Antonio’s vibrant neighborhoods, iconic landmarks and even Joint Base San Antonio – Fort Sam Houston.

On Sunday, Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series San Antonio marathon saw elite runners take to the course. “I feel like a hometown favorite, I like to think, in the sense that I have a lot of support in the community. That is what sport is all about. The course, the second half, is always tough regardless of the marathon. It’s still tough through the greenway. The support today was tremendous and having family and friends out here meant a lot,” said Jacob Buhler.

“I try not to look back, I just try to focus on the road ahead…. But no matter what happens, if you can get to the finish line, it’s a win.” – said Courtney Olivier

Calahan Warren of Auburndale, Fla. with a time of 1:07:54 and Natosha Rogers of New Braunfels, Texas finishing in 1:09:49 were the male and female overall winners of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series San Antonio half marathon.

“(This was my) first half marathon so I’m very, very happy,” said Calahan Warren. “I’ve been training so hard and happy to have my parents, sister and a lot of friends that live in San Antonio came out to support me. I’m thrilled at this result.”

“This is just the start of a marathon build, so I have a lot of work ahead of me and a lot more miles, but this was a great start and a great race for sure,” said Natosha Rogers.
