Endurance sports PR firm awarded for work with Christie Clinic Illinois Race Weekend and Andrea Lytle Peet

MISSION VIEJO, Calif. – Treat Public Relations, the endurance sports industry’s premier public relations partner, became an award-winning agency at the Public Relations Society of America Orange County chapter’s annual PROTOS Awards Wednesday night. Treat PR took home the PROTOS award for their submission to the Best Single Media Placement category, as well as an Award of Excellence in the category of Media Relations Program.

“This year has been an epic one for our business. We’re securing notable new clients, growing our team, and now we are an award-winning public relations firm, ” said Meg Treat, APR, owner and principal of Treat Public Relations. “Of course, we couldn’t be eligible for awards like these without the opportunity to steward the stories of our amazing clients. We feel fortunate to bring their stories to the world and shine a light on them. Treat PR shares these special recognitions with Christie Clinic Illinois Race Weekend and Andrea Lytle Peet!”

In the Best Single Media Placement category, Treat PR had the highest-scored entry for the coverage they secured for Andrea Lytle Peet, the first person with ALS to complete a marathon in all 50 states. The agency earned an opportunity for Peet to be featured on ABC World News Tonight with David Muir as part of the program’s America Strong segment, which reached over 38 million viewers in total following syndication.

In the Media Relations Program category, Treat PR’s award-winning entry focused on their work with Christie Clinic Illinois Race Weekend. The agency helped the endurance event, one of the 100 largest in the United States, mark the return of their full marathon distance post-pandemic with their “26.2 Is Back In C-U” campaign.

PROTOS awards are given to the highest-scored entries in each category. Awards of Excellence are presented to other noteworthy entries. Entries are judged by two or more experienced PR professionals from another PRSA chapter.
