Women’s full marathon winner Ashton Swinford completes historic 5-peat victory
CLEVELAND, OH – May 17, 2026 – The University Hospitals Cleveland Marathon announced today the results of its half and full marathon races. Ashton Swinford from Hudson, Ohio finished first in the women’s full marathon, a historic 5th straight victory. Jacob Kocis from Versailles, Kentucky placed first in the men’s full marathon.
Kocis ran the full marathon distance in 2:21:50, and Swinford finished with a time of 2:44:36. Zoe Tippl from Kings County, New York finished first in the full marathon distance in the non-binary category with a time of 3:22:43. As a Boston qualifying race, the University Hospitals Cleveland Marathon plays an important role in supporting non-binary individuals in their quest for Boston.
Hunter Brignall from Seneca Valley, New York finished first in the men’s half marathon with a time of 1:08:49. Katie Clute from Olmsted Falls was the top female finisher with a time of 1:15:12. Gregory Steinberger from Lyndhurst, Ohio was the top finisher in the non-binary category with a time of 2:16:40.

“Cleveland is fast, flat, and fun, and we’re so happy more than 13,000 runners got to enjoy it over a splendid weekend in Northeast Ohio,” said Race Director Ralph Staph. “We are particularly proud of the more than 3,700 first-time half and full marathon runners that began their distance running journey in Cleveland this year and we hope to welcome them back in 2027 to make history with us during our 50th anniversary celebration.”
The countdown to 50 has begun. The University Hospitals Cleveland Marathon will celebrate its historic 50th anniversary next year during race weekend, May 15 – 16, 2027. Registration for all events, including the Kids Run, 5K, 10K, Half and Full Marathon distances will open soon.
