BOULDER, CO — The 2025 BOLDERBoulder 10K, one of America’s most iconic road races, will once again host some of the nation’s most accomplished distance runners. The official U.S. roster for this year’s international pro race was announced today, featuring past champions, Olympians, and rising stars ready to take on the high-altitude challenge of Boulder’s Memorial Day tradition. The race will be held on Monday, May 26.
MEN’S USA TEAMS:
Leading the charge for the USA Men’s Red team is Conner Mantz (Smithfield, UT), back-to-back BOLDERBoulder champion (2023 and 2024) and a crowd favorite known for his gritty racing and finishing speed. Joining him is Biya Simbassa (Flagstaff, AZ), who placed 5th last year recently set the U.S. 10 km road record running 27:23. Olympian and steeplechase specialist Hillary Bor (Colorado Springs, CO) adds world-class toughness to the lineup/ The USA Men’s White team will include Drew Hunter (Longmont, CO), whose father Marc won the race in 1980, Joe Klecker (Longmont, CO) and Aidan Reed (Boulder, CO). Klecker, is in his rookie season of road running after representing Team USA at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics/ Reed, who dominated the 2024 BOLDERBoulder citizens race, steps up to the professional field this year after recently running 45:58 for 10 miles. Over the past four months, all six of the aforementioned athletes have recorded 10-mile times that rank among the top 11 in U.S. history.
WOMEN’S TEAM:
The women’s Team USA Red team is headlined by Emily Durgin, the 2023 BOLDERBoulder champion, looking to reclaim the title she earned two years ago. She’ll be joined by Aubrey Frenthaway (Provo, UT), a rising talent on the U.S. distance scene who recently ran 51:58 for 10 miles (#9 U.S. all-time) and Molly Grabill (Superior, CO), who won last year’s citizens race and now takes on the pro international field.
The women’s USA White team roster is an all-University of Colorado alumnae squad that includes Carrie Verdon-Ellwood (Boulder, CO), Makena Morley (Bozeman, MT), and Mackenzie Caldwell (Boulder, CO). Verdon-Ellwood, who finished eighth last year and recently set the American 25 km record, graduated in 2017 from CU. Morley, last year’s sixth place finisher, graduated in 2020 and Caldwell is a 2019 CU graduate.
“The U.S. squad is strong, experienced, and hungry for a team title,” said race director Cliff Bosley. “We’re proud to welcome this group to the streets of Boulder for what promises to be another electrifying Memorial Day.”
The women’s professional race will begin at 11:11 AM, followed by the men’s race at 11:22 AM, with both starting at the corner of Folsom and Taft Streets. More than 40,000 spectators are expected to witness the professional race finishes on the stadium floor of CU’s Folsom Field, followed by the moving Memorial Day Tribute—a fitting conclusion to a day that begins at 6:45 AM with the professional wheelchair races and nearly 50,000 runners setting off in over 95 waves.
