Flint, MI – The 48th HAP CareSource Crim Festival of Races, one of the Midwest’s largest distance running festivals, is excited to announce the return of an open elite field and cash prize purse. For the first time since 2015, prize money will be awarded in the Crim’s signature 10-mile event for both men and women, three places deep, as well as for wheelers and hand-cyclists. The top finishers can earn as much as $3,000.
The HAP CareSource Crim Festival of Races, which hosts a 10-mile, 5-mile, 5K, and 1-mile race, as well as kids’ races, hosts approximately 11,000 athletes and is known for its challenging course, robust course entertainment, and massive post-race festival.
Historically, the Crim has hosted some of the world’s fastest athletes from around the globe. In 2024, the race hosted athletes from nearly 40 states and several foreign countries. Because of this tradition, the Crim will also offer a $5,000 cash bounty for any athlete, male or female who can break the standing course records. The men’s record is 45:43 and was set by Joseph Kamau (KEN) in 1996. The women’s record was set by Vicoty Chepngeno (KEN) and stands at 51:35.
