Asheville, NC – April 30, 2026 – Since 2018, Recover Brands and the Big Sur Marathon Foundation have worked closely to cultivate positive environmental impact and lead by example through their world-class events. Most recently at the 39th running of the iconic Big Sur International Marathon along Highway 1 in California.
As the “Sustainability Sponsor” of the 2026 Big Sur International Marathon, Recover Brands proudly provided sustainable apparel, including participant shirts, volunteer tees, and commemorative merchandise for the event.
For the 2026 marathon, the Big Sur Marathon Foundation made an impact by partnering with Recover to provide high-quality, low-waste apparel crafted from 100% certified recycled materials in a HyperLocal Supply Chain. Recover further reduced waste and added an interactive element at the two-day expo through a circular apparel recycling take-back program.

Throughout the weekend, the Recover team activated at the Thursday night Pub Run, throughout the two-day expo, during the race, and at the finish line festival, with some Recover team members and ambassadors running in the various distances, including a Top 5 Overall Finish in the Marathon (Jonathan Ladson) and the Top Overall Female in the 11 Mile race (Elena Stambone)!
