Open registration begins Monday, February 5 at 10 a.m. until race caps are met.

UTICA- Officials from the Boilermaker Road Race unveiled the new race logo and announced that this year’s races will be run on Sunday, July 14, 2024. Priority registration will open at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 15 via the race’s website www.boilermaker.com.

Runners who registered for any of the 2023 races, including the virtual events, have exclusive access to register during the Priority Registration Period, which ends Sunday, February 4 at 11:59 p.m. Those eligible will be contacted via email by January 8, 2024 with registration instructions.

Open registration begins Monday, February 5 at 10 a.m. and will remain open until Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. or until the races reach capacity.

“This past July we saw an almost 20% increase in registrations and the best 15K in the country yielded four (4) records across both the women’s and men’s fields including the fastest 15K run on US soil.” said Boilermaker President Mark Donovan. “In August & September, we held two historic early registration periods that generated so much interest that almost 30% of our 2024 field has already been filled. We are confident that the momentum built over the past few years will continue to make the 47th running of the Boilermaker yet another fantastic experience for our participants, spectators, sponsors, volunteers, and community.”

The 15K presented by Excellus BlueCross BlueShield will have a capacity of 10,000 representing an 18% increase over its 2023 cap. The 5K presented by Utica National returns to its normal capacity of 4,500.

After a one-year detour in 2023 due to road construction, the Boilermaker returns to its traditional course for 2024.

“We are grateful for the extraordinary work done by the NYS DOT to complete their project in time for the 2024 Boilermaker,” said Boilermaker Race Director Jim Stasaitis. “The lower portion of Champlin Ave is now wider than ever before and we look forward to getting back to our historic, course.”

Boilermaker week will feature multiple community-minded events beginning with the Youth Olympics presented by Bank of America. The Kids Run presented by Utica National and the Walk presented by Slocum-Dickson Medical Group will both take place at Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) on Saturday, July 13. Registration information will be announced in the spring.

The Boilermaker Health and Wellness Expo presented by Mohawk Valley Health System will take place at the Utica Campus of MVCC for Boilermaker weekend. The expo will be open on Friday, July 12 from noon to 7 p.m., and Saturday, July 13 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In addition to packet pickup, the expo features healthy living information, vendors, Boilermaker merchandise and more.

The Boilermaker Charity Bib Program presented by Wolfspeed allows participants to fundraise on behalf of a local non-profit organization in exchange for a free race bib in the Boilermaker race of their choosing. The application period opened on November 27 and ends on December 22, 2023.

2024’s Boilermaker events will also include the Corporate Cup presented by Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, the High School Challenge presented by GPO Federal Credit Union, the Bob Ingalls Police-Fire Competition and the Wheelchair Challenge sponsored by Sitrin Healthcare.

The Access Program presented by Wolfspeed offers race bibs, running shoes with the support of The Sneaker Store, and resources for first-time runners in underprivileged and underserved communities, returns for its third year. Details on the program can also be found on boilermaker.com.

The Saranac Post-Race Party will be open to runners and spectators from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., providing plenty of time to celebrate after the events.

The Boilermaker Volunteer portal is now open and can be found at boilermaker.com/volunteer. Supported by The Fountainhead Group, volunteers are the heart of the Boilermaker and heading in to 2024, there are a number of needs as well as several volunteer leadership opportunities available.
