PASADENA, Calif. – January 13, 2022 –  It’s the perfect way to kick start a healthy New Year. The Rose Bowl Half Marathon & 5k will return to the scenic streets of Pasadena this Sunday, January 16, 2022.

Over 5,000 runners are expected to hit their stride and aim for a personal best, as they enjoy entertainment and fanfare along one of the most beautiful 13.1-mile courses in Southern California.

Remote check-in and registration locations will be set up around the city Friday and Saturday leading up to the race, including the ASICS flagship store in Westfield Century City and Big 5 Sporting Goods locations in Santa Monica and Pasadena.

The Rose Bowl Half Marathon & 5k starts and finishes at the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium, featuring a scenic course that crosses the Colorado Bridge, runs through Old Town Pasadena and around the Brookside Golf Course. Runners enjoy numerous landmarks along the route including the Tournament House, the Norton Simon Museum and more. After crossing the finish line, runners will have the opportunity to recover, relax, and take photos with multiple photo ops on the field at the iconic Rose Bowl.

“After crossing the finish line, runners will join family and friends on the field to celebrate their accomplishment at the finish line festival and Heineken 0.0 Beer Garden,” said Kayla Newby-Fraser, Senior Manager of Partnerships for the McCourt Foundation. “For runners participating in the 3-race Conquer LA Challenge, they will have the chance to take photos with the official Los Angeles Marathon all-electric lead vehicle, which will be in the end zone. The Volvo XC60 will display their March marathon goal time on the official race time clock.”

Registration is open online at RoseBowlHalf.com and includes a Rose Bowl Bib, a Finisher Medal, and an ASICS technical shirt. Proceeds from the event support the McCourt Foundation’s mission to empower individuals and communities to build a healthier world through research, education, and events.  All participants and spectators will be required to provide proof of vaccination or a negative covid test to participate.
