Nearly 11,000 runners celebrated “The World’s Borough” at the sold-out 2025 Citizens Queens 10K Saturday morning, alongside more than 500 youth in the accompanying Flushing Meadows Kids Run.
Hosted by New York Road Runners (NYRR)—the nonprofit that “runs” New York City producing 60 annual adult and youth races including the TCS New York City Marathon—the Citizens Queens 10K is New York Road Runners’ marquee event in the borough and part of the NYRR Five-Borough Series. The 6.2-mile course through picturesque Flushing Meadows Corona Park offered views of the Unisphere, Citi Field, and the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
Among the 11,000 race participants was Queens hip-hop icon and “Drink Champs” host N.O.R.E., who ran alongside his two sons ahead of Father’s Day and members of his Run Champs run club. Following the race, N.O.R.E. announced that he will be running the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon—the best day of the year in New York City and one of the largest marathons in the world—Sunday, Nov. 2.
For the second consecutive year, title sponsor Citizens hosted a post-race festival in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, offering live music; family-friendly games and activities; complimentary treats from local-favorite vendors featured in the Queens Night Market presented by Citizens; exciting prizes drawings; and fun photo opportunities.
