Today Also Marks Launch of 2025 Atlanta Track Club Membership
ATLANTA – November 1, 2024 – Registration is now open for the inaugural Atlanta Journal-Constitution Polar Opposite Peachtree Road Race, offering participants a new way to experience the iconic Peachtree course− in reverse. Set for January 4, 2025, the race starts at Piedmont Park and ends at Lenox Square, providing a downhill route on Atlanta’s historic Cardiac Hill.
“With this winter edition of the Peachtree, we’re excited to bring a fresh, fun twist to an Atlanta tradition that means so much to so many,” said Rich Kenah, CEO of Atlanta Track Club. “Offering new events and experiences, along with honoring our beloved customs, is part of our commitment to Running City USA.”
Atlanta Track Club is also introducing a “Peachtree Bundle” option to register for both the January and July races now. With the AJC Peachtree Road Race lottery returning in April 2025, this registration bundle offers a chance for non-members to bypass the lottery and secure a spot in July’s race months in advance. Atlanta Track Club members who choose the bundle will receive their member discount and claim their guaranteed spot on the starting line in July before regular registration opens.
“The Peachtree represents the very heart of Atlanta, bringing people together across generations,” said Andrew Morse, president and publisher of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “We’re proud to expand our support and be a part of bringing that Peachtree spirit to the community year-round.”
Registration for the Polar Opposite Peachtree is available here. Limited to 5,000 runners, registration for the January race will close on November 15 or when capacity is reached.
Participants will receive a commemorative adidas hoodie and – exclusive to the winter edition – a finisher’s medal. Because they will be urged to park at the Lenox Square finish line and take public transportation to the park, they will also be given a one-way MARTA pass. Also today, Atlanta Track Club opens its 2025 membership, offering exclusive benefits including the lowest registration rates for both Peachtree races, free entry into six member-only events, and more. Anyone joining in November will receive 14 months of membership for the price of 12.
