Popular Arlington race enters new era under Run Project with expanded race experiences
May 11, 2026 – ARLINGTON, TEXAS – Run Project has officially announced new ownership and expanded plans for Big Texas Run 15K Relay, 15K, 10K and 5K, bringing fresh energy, new race experiences, and elevated participant amenities to the Arlington-based event in 2026.
Held in the heart of the Arlington Entertainment District near AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Field, Choctaw Stadium, and Texas Live!, Big Texas Run will continue its tradition of delivering a fun and uniquely Texas race atmosphere — now with several major additions under Run Project leadership.
New for 2026, participants can expect:
● A brand-new 15K distance
● Introduction of the 15K Relay
● New VIP race experience options
● Enhanced race day entertainment and atmosphere
● Updated participant swag and finisher experiences
● Expanded post-race celebration elements
“We saw tremendous potential in Big Texas Run and wanted to build on the foundation that was already there,” said Race Director Brock Foster. “Our goal is to preserve the fun spirit of the event while elevating the overall participant experience with new race formats, upgraded amenities, and the high-energy atmosphere people have come to expect from Run Project events.”
The addition of the 15K and 15K Relay creates a unique new challenge for runners looking for something beyond the traditional 5K or 10K distances, while the VIP experience is designed to offer premium perks and hospitality for participants wanting an upgraded race weekend experience.
Participants will continue to enjoy the scenic Arlington Entertainment District course along with:
● Custom race swag
● Texas-inspired finisher medal
● Live entertainment
● Sponsor village
● Post-race party atmosphere near Texas Live!
