Toledo, Ohio – April 26, 2026 – Overall male winner, 25 year old Vincent Mauri of Warren, Ohio, qualified for the Olympic Marathon Trials with his finish time of 2:05:54.21, and shattered the course record previously set in 2025 at 2:19:31.87. This was Mauri’s first marathon. The first female finisher, Andie Cozzarelli, 35 years old from Chattanooga, Tennessee, also qualified for the Olympic Marathon Trials with a finish time of 2:36:59.67, less than one second faster than the required female mark of 2:17.

The Mercy Health Glass City Marathon is a USA Track and Field sanctioned Olympic Trials Qualifier marathon and continues to attract top elite athletes and make a name for itself as one of the fastest marathons available. Mauri’s finish time is the fastest debut marathon by an American, fastest marathon on Ohio soil, and the third fastest American time ever, behind only Conner Mantz and Khalid Khannouchi, two World Class marathoners. Mauri’s finish was only about 1:11 off the fastest American marathoner finish time ever.

“We are known for being a top Boston qualifying race annually because of our moderate weather, and flat and fast course. With a focused effort to make the experience one elite runners expect from top races, we have also begun drawing top athletes,” said Clint McCormick, race director. “Good weather, our fast course and good competition all came together today to support posting great times,” he added.

Race day’s cool weather set up good conditions for runners to post fast times. 1,474 participants embarked on the marathon course, making this year one of the largest field to date. First time marathoners made up nearly twenty-three percent of the field, with a total of 334 individuals making Toledo there first attempt at any 26.2 mile event. Over one third of the marathon field is expected to have qualified for the prestigious Boston Marathon as well.

This weekend, 6,642 participants, including dozens of elite runners, took part in the 49th annual Mercy Health Glass City Marathon. It was a clear, cool and calm Sunday morning as runners traveled the streets of Toledo and surrounding communities. The race featured various distances, including the full marathon, half marathon, 5k, a team relay and kids run.

The overall male winner of the Owens Corning Half Marathon was Kobe Blanco, 24 years old from Spring Arbor, Michigan, with a finish time of 1:05:56. The top female half marathoner was Julia Pleskaczynska, 28 years old from Dundee, Michigan, with a time of 1:16:31.42.

Saturday morning’s Savage 5K overall winners were 25 year old Chris Davis from Ypsilanti, Michigan with a time of 16:12.72. The top female finisher was Alexis Brennan, 26 years old from Howell, Michigan, finishing with a time of 18:16.27.
