Dear Running USA Members,
I’m writing to share news regarding an important transition in our organization.
Jay Holder, who has served as our Executive Director since 2023, will be stepping down to accept an exciting new leadership position with USA Track & Field. We are incredibly proud of Jay and grateful for his vision, dedication, and service to our organization and the running industry as a whole.
During his tenure, Jay helped shape and launch a strategic plan that laid a strong foundation for the future of Running USA. Under his guidance, we modernized our membership structure, strengthened our research and international partnerships, and welcomed a host of new members and sponsors. His contributions have left a lasting mark on our mission to educate, engage, and elevate the running event industry.
I have been appointed by the Board of Directors to serve as Interim Executive Director while a national search for Jay’s successor gets underway. I want to personally assure you that we are approaching this transition with focus and care. I’m also pleased to share that Jay will remain actively involved during this process, working with our team and board to ensure a smooth handoff and to help identify the right next leader for Running USA.
Our commitment to you, our members, remains steadfast. We will continue to listen, adapt, and lead with purpose—always keeping the growth and health of this industry at the center of all we do.
