Trackstar signs 20th race partner in 9 months in a push to standardize the finisher experience.
From Matt Hickman, Owner of Trackstar:
After I completed my first marathon, my mom got me a personalized race poster off Etsy as a gift. I loved it! However, my girlfriend did not. She lovingly told me that it looked a little ‘arts-and-craftsy.’ And she was right, the quality of the product did not reflect the seriousness of the effort I’d put in to run that marathon. It looked cheap.
So this sparked an idea: we should create a personalized finisher print that actually looked nice, like nice enough to get girlfriend-approval. A product that reflected the beauty of the marathon experience.
And thus, Trackstar was born.
Think about it, typically when a runner crosses the line, they get a medal, a banana, and a foil blanket. Then they go home, throw that medal in a storage bin somewhere and the memory starts to fade.
I think that moment deserves more, to be memorialized on a wall. So it becomes a talking point, a receipt for your marathon, and a reminder that you can do hard things.
Trackstar creates well-designed personalized finisher prints. We launched our race partnership program just over 9 months ago, and have signed on 20 races, including Marine Corps Marathon, CIM, Jersey City Marathon, Eugene Marathon, Illinois Marathon & more.
We’re looking to bring this program to every race in America so that runners can come to expect a beautiful finisher print at every finish line.
We handle everything for our race partners. Our designer creates a custom print for your race, we build out the e-comm storefront, fulfill every order, and support every customer. We also comp prints to be used as giveaways, gifts for VIPs or sponsors, or for your race winners.
The race promotes it to finishers and earns a share of every sale. No inventory, no cost, no operational lift. Just a higher-end finisher experience and a new revenue line.
I keep having this dream: a Trackstar print available at every finish line in the country. I think it’s totally doable.
