DENVER, CO — For the 37th annual Runnin’ of the Green on March 9, 2025, HAL Sports will be expanding its Athletes with Disabilities Program by partnering with Project Limitless, a nationwide nonprofit organization and branch of Human Power. Project Limitless strives to remove barriers and expenses for those living with physical impairments and special needs. Their guide program provides athletes with different abilities with the opportunity to compete in events of all types from 1-mile walks to Olympic-distance triathlons.

Runnin’ of the Green has been a St. Patrick’s Day family-friendly favorite in Denver for over three decades years. HAL Sports supported the McGrath family-owned event through timing and announcing services since 2009 years. After the tragic passing of Terry McGrath, the race’s founder, in 2020, HAL Sports embraced the full production and management of the beloved community event on behalf of the McGrath Family.

The event, held at Washington Park in Denver, CO offers a Lucky 7K race, a 2-mile Leprechaun Leap, and a virtual option. After the race, participants enjoy a festival including live Irish music, bagpipes, dancers, a beer garden, a finishers medal, food and refreshments, free photos, and more.

Registration opens on Black Friday (November 29, 2024) with a limited-time special deal for early-bird shoppers.

“This year’s Runnin’ of the Green (ROTG) is proud to spotlight accessibility and inclusion as a central part of our event. We welcome athletes of all abilities, including wheelchair athletes, athletes with disabilities, and neurodivergent participants, to join us in celebrating fitness, community, and the Irish spirit,” said Lonnie Somers, Chief HAL Officer. “With a commitment to creating a supportive and accommodating environment, ROTG ensures that every participant feels welcomed and empowered to achieve their goals. Whether racing for a personal best or simply enjoying the festive atmosphere, everyone has a place at our starting line.”

“At Project Limitless, we aim to provide adults with special needs/different physical abilities the experiences, funding, and medical resources they need to thrive as a member of our community. If you are a Title III athlete in need of a guide to participate at Runnin’ of the Green, let us help you push your physical limits, achieve your goals, and redefine what’s possible,” said Jennifer LeChevallier, Director of Marketing and Fundraising at Project Limitless.
