New five-event partnership to enhance west coast races starting with the Santa Barbara Wine County Half Marathon presented by Chumash Casino Resort on Saturday, May 11

Santa Barbara, CA – May 7, 2024 – Motiv Sports, a North American leader in mass participation events, today announced a multi-event partnership with JAMBAR, a leading provider of organic artisan energy bars. This strategic alignment is poised to enhance the participant experience by providing substantial, healthful energy bars to support both performance and recovery on race day, with a focus on giving back to the community.

Motiv, which owns and operates the Golden Gate Half Marathon and the STS Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon, among other Golden State Run Series events, will integrate JAMBAR’s delicious, nutritious energy bars into their events, starting with the Santa Barbara Wine Country Half Marathon presented by Chumash Casino Resort in May. The Mother’s Day Weekend running tradition, annually welcomes nearly 2,000 runners.

“We are thrilled to partner with Motiv Sports to promote health and wellness on a larger scale,” said Jennifer Maxwell, founder of JAMBAR and a longtime pioneer in the energy bar industry. “At JAMBAR, we are committed to creating bars with premium, real-food organic ingredients that empower individuals to live their best lives. This partnership aligns perfectly with our mission to inspire people to prioritize their active well-being and achieve their goals.”

An artisan energy bar made with all organic ingredients, JAMBAR donates 50% of all after-tax profits to support music and active living. Maxwell, a co-founder of PowerBar who returned to the nutrition field with a vision to redefine the energy bar market, emphasizes those unique aspects of JAMBAR. “This isn’t just about feeding the body after an intense activity such as finishing a half-marathon, it’s about feeding the soul and fostering community through shared values of health and vitality,” Maxwell added.

This partnership marks JAMBAR’s debut as the ‘Official Energy Bar’ at the upcoming Santa Barbara Wine Country Half Marathon, a unique, 13.1-mile event that takes place in Solvang, one of the most picturesque locations in California.  The course winds through rolling hills and vineyards, with views of the Santa Ynez Mountains before finishing on Copenhagen Drive in the heart of historic Solvang. Participants will have convenient access to JAMBAR energy bars, ensuring they are well-fueled to tackle the picturesque course and enjoy the post-race wine festival and live entertainment in the park.

“Partnering with JAMBAR is a big win for our participants. Their commitment to quality and giving back in the community fits perfectly with the spirit of our events,” said Phyllis Blanchard, VP of Partnerships at Motiv. “Runners can look forward to an enhanced experience these nutritious bars – which include gluten-free and plant-based options – to fuel their fitness journeys and help them perform their best.”
