LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Feb. 25, 2023) – As the Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series celebrates its 25th anniversary, the 13th running of the iconic Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas commenced as runners and walkers of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds conquered the 2023 Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas 5K on Saturday night.

As participants from all over the world took on the Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas 5K in Downtown Las Vegas with a one-of-a-kind finish line at the Fremont Street Experience, they were also treated with DJ Battles. aerial dancers, interactive experiences, photo opportunities, local artists, food trucks, cocktails, and more at the Downtown Events Center.

The start to the two-day weekend of immersive running experiences saw Erik Chazin (28-year-old from Gilbert, Arizona) as the first to cross the finish line in the men’s field with a time of 16:51 while Maria Kedge (23-year-old from Colorado Springs, Colorado) crossed first in the women’s field with a time of 17:11.

2022 Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas 5K winner Chazin was back to defend his title.

“I have done thirteen or fourteen Rock ‘n’ Roll races, this is my favorite one. It’s great underneath the lights – great energy, great people and amazing volunteers as always so it’s a really good one to come back to. I just wanted to come back here and defend my title. I was here for work all week, so it worked out perfectly. Just want to thank the staff and volunteers for being out here in the rain and cold, we wouldn’t be here without them.”

Kedge, whose husband also competed, was elated after crossing the finish line at her first-ever Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas 5K.

“This was kind of a rust-buster for me to see where my fitness was at,” she said. “I’ve been doing some good runs, but this was a good indicator. It was a lot of fun, a lot of energy everywhere and people cheering all the way down, so I appreciated it.”

As Saturday night’s energy comes to a close, all eyes turn to Sunday, Feb. 26 as the world’s largest running party prepares to take over the famed Las Vegas Strip for the Half Marathon and 10K.
